DECO Coatings is grateful and appreciative to continue to work amid the current crisis, providing for Critical Infrastructure needs during this unprecedented challenge with COVID-19. We are committed to supporting our community.
DECO is donating $5,000 to our local food bank. But we aren’t alone. After sharing our thoughts regarding what we can do as open businesses amid the COVID19 crisis with a select group of business owners, we challenged them to match our gift of $5,000 to aid our local community. Without hesitation, they agreed to match it! Now we have a total of $10,000 of donation: $7,000 will be distributed to local food banks and $3,000 to local animal shelters. We have committed to continue to give support during this crisis period, as long as our job sites stay open to work.
DECO is deeply appreciative of the other businesses who readily stepped up to give back: On Top Roofing, SouthHaus Group, and USA Up Star. What is special about this group of donors? Each of the participating companies are owned by family members that all happen to do business together. The entrepreneur owners are the three children of DECO Coatings owners, Janet and Kirby South.
From the time their children were young, Kirby and Janet taught and demonstrated the value and necessity of giving back to their community through various acts of service. The children have since grown into successful business owners themselves and remained true to the family fabric of serving others. Without hesitation, they jumped at the opportunity to help financially support our hometown community during this difficult time.
We also challenge any businesses that profitable and open as essential business to consider what they can do to support and help our local community programs that will aid in the needs and financial difficulties being experienced by local families. We shouldn’t let hardship be the focus—let’s band together and give back!
