How DECO Coatings Gets Into The Christmas Spirit

Growing up, my parents instilled in us the importance of helping those in need. We would spend many hours volunteering every year at one foundation or another. So, naturally, it carried over into the fabric of our family business practices.

Each Christmas, DECO Coatings chooses an outreach program to donate gifts to, and I can tell you it is a real highlight to the work year. I love shopping for the kids who would not have much of a Christmas, if any, because I know I am bringing a little bit more joy into their lives. This holiday, DECO supported kids 9-11 years old with hats, gloves, socks, balls and toys.

My heart was moved thinking about if my own son was in a similar situation. Picking out the quality that I would want for him was easy, and since I have a child of my own, I especially enjoyed finding things that I knew the kids would love. My faithful buddy, Chris Hannemann, accompanied by Kelly Spoor, joined us and delivered large bags stuffed with hats, gloves, socks, balls, and toys. It was a thrill to see how many lives would soon be impacted with such happiness. I could imagine the smiles on the faces of kids and their parents and grandparents that would now be able to provide surprises for their children. Helping others gives meaning and value on a deep personal level, and I encourage all of you to do the same. It’s true what they say…that giving is better than receiving.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas season and Happy New Year from the DECO Coatings Team!
